Most Reverend Archbishop Alex Thomas Kaliyanil SVD

The Archdiocese of Bulawayo is a Catholic Church administrative unit of Roman rite in Zimbabwe.

It’s Latin name is Archidioecesis Bulauaiensis and it was established on the 10th of June 1994, covering area of almost 70 thousand square km with population of 1.5 million people. The total number of Catholics in the area is about 65 thousand.
The main Church building of the archdiocese is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Bulawayo and it’s feast is on the Immaculate Heart of Mary solemnity in June.

The current Archbishop, the Most Reverend Alex Thomas Kaliyanil SVD, has been leading the archdiocese from 2009.
